Jpop on rise; what do you think will happen if there's a sudden boom on jpop's popularity in the country?

My stand?

before being a kpop fan, i was actually against the idea of bringing johnnys in the philippines. now? i don't really know. as much as i love my other kpop fandoms, i would love to see je boys being appreciated here in the philippines too.

it's a really selfish thing to say "ah, ayokong sumikat sila dito. magiging corny na." dude, isn't that pathetic?

sa totoo lang, split din ang majority ng kpop fans in terms of bringing artists here. pero once na confirmed na yung concerts, yung mga fans na against ba mag-bboycott ng concerts/guestings/performance kasi CORNY na? no, they still support them. kasi if hindi din lang nila isusupport, it's sad that they call themselves fans.

think about it. fame has its inevitable consequences. kung fan ka talaga, no matter how "corny" you fandom seems to be in the eyes of others, you'll remain one.

Going back to Johnnys

It's been a while since I last posted something Johnnys related on this blog. For the past weeks, I have only been talking KPop-related (mainly SuJu, FTI) entries, tweets and plurks on my social networking accounts. I miss JEPop too, you know. :)

As a newbie in the KPop fandom and as a veteran* in the JEPop world, there are just some things I could only find in Johnnys. My number one favorite example: colorful and sparkly outfits. :DDD Hahaha.

My sister said that the influence of Western Music in the KPop industry is obvious, while I think, JPop in general tries to maintain their own sound.

Anyway, I promised my co-mod in the je_philippines community that I'll be back once the school ends -- a good timing, since NEWS' new single Sakura Girl will be up by then. NEWS' lack of activities for the past months might even be one of the reasons why I 'transferred' to the KPop world. :( Johnny should really give more attention to those boys!

Oh BTW, the real reason why I'm writing this entry is so that I could actually record my Johnny's Ranking based on America wota and compare it to the list on my sidebar. Haha.

Lexie, I present...13 Reasons Why You Should Watch SJ SS2 LIVE! Surprised?

1. It's not everyday that a KPop group would go here in the Philippines as part of their Asian Tour. And come on, the venue's THE BIG DOME.

2. It's the first ever full production concert of a KPop group in the Philippines! Historic, ayt? So, wanna go and be part of the history? ~~(This is soooo benta).~~

3. It would be quite impossible to bring any JPop group here, especially Johnny's. ~~Unless we produce one. We should hurry up and graduate. LOL~~ So instead of sulking, let's us just momentarily enjoy the goodness of live KPop!

My friends and I were seated together around a table in the school caf for lunch a while ago when one of them brought up the topic about the cancellation of The Killers Live in Manila.

For the sake of preserving the humor/'corny-ness,' I am writing the following conversation in Tagalog (With Eng translation).

C: 'Tol, ba't daw na-cancel yung The Killers? (T/n: Dude, why did The Killers [concert] get canceled?)

S: Ah, kasi parang yung issue sa Eraser Heads. Maddisband na din sila. (T/n: Similar to Eraser Head's issue. They are disbanding.)

C (The hardcore Killers fan): Oh? Eh?!!! Seryoso?! Hindi nga?! Niloloko mo lang ako eh... (T/n: Seriously?! You've gotta be kidding me!)

S: Oo nga kasi. (T/n: I'm telling you, it's true.)

Me to C: Iiyak na yan.... (T/n: She's gonna cry....)

C: Leave me alone!

Me: Okay lang yan. Kung madisband din naman ang NEWS, iiyak ako. Hehe (T/n: It's okay. If NEWS were disbanding, I'll cry too. Hehe)

I have been a SuJu fan for a month now. My cousin officially introduced me to the band on Dec.28, 2009 and today's my 1st monthsary! YAY! What's weird is...I don't even feel like a new fan at all. :D I'm becoming one serious hardcore E.L.F. Haha!

Mommy Story
Disclaimer: Please forgive my mom for the sharp comments. You know how moms could be, right?

Here's a funny story about my mom and my fandom.
I was watching different SuJu MVs on my laptop, when my mom sat down beside me. She was minding her own business, while watching TV.

And so I was totally enjoying the videos I was watching but I just couldn't help it.
(The conversation is really in Tagalog but I'm translating it to English just in case some foreign people came across this.)
Me: Ma, look at this video. Tell me who's the most handsome.
Mom: Alright.

I showed my mom the MVs of Sorry Sorry and Sorry Sorry Answer. Surprisingly, she seemed consistent with all her answers:
1. She doesn't like Leeteuk that much, because of his eyebrows.
2. She thinks Yesung looks like a baby so she doesn't like him either.
3. Eunhyuk looks like a girl because of his lipgloss.
4. She doesn't like Shindong because of his weight.
5. She said Hangeng looks Japanese, so she doesn't like him that much either.
5. Siwon, Heechul, Kyuhyun, Donghae and Sungmin are "okay."
6. Ryeowook looks the best among all of them.
7. I don't remember her commenting about Kangin and Kibum though.

She remarked, "Ah. Korean celebrities look more handsome than Japanese celebrities after all!" I was like...hmmm..NOT always true! (Considering I am still a Johnny's fan, I couldn't let this comment pass that easily.)

So I showed her NEWS' Summer Time PV.
Mom: Oh! This way I could see them better! More close up!
(Upon seeing Shige)
Mom: Oh! That one's handsome!
(Upon seeing Pi)
Mom: Oh! That one too!
(Lastly, Tego)
Mom: Oooh! I like him the best!

Mom: Hmm..There are less members there in that video. Why is it like that?
Me: Huh? Because they are a different band! It's NEWS, mama. Japanese!
Mom: Ah! Really! I thought they were the same band as the first two! So Japanese celebrities are more good looking!

HAHAHA!

Here comes the climax...
I finally showed my mom SuJu's Neorago (It's you).
And upon seeing her "beloved" Ryeowook....
Mom: Eh? Who's that? The nose is too thin.
Me: But you said you like him! He is supposedly your favorite!
Mom: He's the same person?! Oh. I don't like him now.

It was crazy. :))
It's hard when my cousins are not around and I have no choice but to talk to my mom about my fandom. Funny things like this happen.

My SuJu Ranking

I was supposed to make something nice for my blog entry about my new rising fandom, but my school sched got so tight that I couldn't accomplish anything. Anyway, as for now, I'm really into this Korean group called Super Junior. I've never had any interest with KPop considering I am a self-confessed JE-holic. But things have changed over the Christmas vacation when my cousin tried her best to influence me into them. And so, that's how I discovered a bunch of really talented and entertaining guys.

As of now, I'm only watching SuJu videos on YouTube. Unlike JE, they don't have much active subbing communities in LJ where I could easily get access into their videos. Also, while JE subbers do not allow release of their works on streaming sites, most KPop subbers I have encountered (as of today) prefer to upload them on those sites, but not provide a download link for the whole video. Or maybe I'm mistaken and just haven't found the right place yet.

My previous ranking before school resumed (based on their physical appearances and few MVs):
1. Sungmin
2. Ryeowook
3. Siwon
4. Heechul
5. Eunhyuk

After more and more videos (e.g. Super Junior E.H.B., Super Junior Full House, Intimate Note ep. 24 & 25, Super Junior Mini Drama, Super Junior Idol World, Star King, and a lot more clips and guestings...) my ranking changed dramatically as of today:

3. Sungmin (plus points because he can speak Japanese, hehe)

It not that I dislike people in the latter half of my ranking...I like everyone in Super Junior! There are just those people who I like the more. Hehe :)

I am actually hoping they'd go here in our country very soon this year. :) Since 'Sorry, Sorry' gained a lot of attention in the Philippine Hit Charts, a concert for SuJu fans is not far from reality. Hey, even SHINEE got here already! Come on, why not SuJu this time? XD

So let's just hope Hangeng/Hankyung continues to be a part of SJ 13 this 2010 after the court hearings and stuff. SM should not let such a talented star go! But in return, SM should also watch out for not only Hangeng's but also their talents' health! :(

As for Kaingin, he should be having his 'come back' after the disciplinary procedures. That time, let's hope he'd become a better person who've had sincerely reflected on his actions. :)

KAT-TUN's Love Yourself

After announcing Hey! Say! JUMP's and Arashi's new single, J.E. has finally announced something new for the band KAT-TUN. This February, KAT-TUN will be releasing their 13th(?) single after last year's "Rescue." The song will be used for Kame's new drama, Yamato Nadeshiko (in which until now, I still disapprove of. Hehe.) The title? "Love yourself ~ Kimi ga Kirai na Kimi ga Suki."

Anyway, it's a good news for KAT-TUN's fans! But not that good to hear for us NEWS fans. Arashi and HSJ have theirsingles while K8 people are having their concert. And NEWS? Still resting. Knock knock Johnny-san! Where is NEWS' single?! It's been forever since Koi no ABO! :|

Oh well, I'm hoping for a good year! :)

Trying KPop and Going SuJu

Happy New Year everyone!

Christmas break passed by just like that, and I haven't been able to accomplish anything significant (note: by 'significant,' I mean anything which relates to school; because school is currently my purpose in life as a student), except that I finally tried to listen to Super Junior. My cousin Rio kinda put JE aside for a while and tried SuJu last November. She really got sucked into the fandom and so she was trying to influence me into it.

At first, I was really hesitant to try it (because I did feel guilty when it comes to my 'loyalty to JE' issues), but then I had fun. I tried to memorizing the names of the members and it was hard 'coz I wasn't familiar with them at all!

I was seriously confused with who is who (except Kibum whom I have known from such a long time ago.) Also, I was shocked to find out that this person in Boys Generation whom I have been calling as SuJu's 'Siwon,' isn't actually Siwon but the one that goes by the name 'SungMin!' I have been crushing on a person with the wrong name. To my embarrassment, I couldn't even identify him on pictures. :))

But now? I can name every member (because of these funny cues that helped me...) Let's see...

Kangin (the 2nd fattest), Kyuhyun (non-existing 'coz I couldn't identify him), Heechul (Pretty boy/You Yokoyama), Sungmin (My crush), Yesung (3rd Chinese-looking; same hairstyle with Massu), Siwon (JunPyo/Stephen look alike; most handsome)

Kibum (of course!), Hangeng/Hankyung (Chinese), Eunhyeuk(2nd Chinese-looking), Donghae (Ryuichi look alike), Leeteuk (cousin's crush), Ryeowook (eyebrows), Shindong (obviously)

Hurrah!!! :)) It really took me a lot of effort to identify these guys. Hopefully, I'll get to know them better as my fandom goes deeper :) Now it's easier to watch the cross-dressing Intimate Note episode and Charice's duet with KyuHyun :))

Waku Waku Shop

I was such in a good mood today ~~because I saw one of my major campus crushes~~, that I have been emitting major GVs (GV: Good Vibes; opposite of BV: Bad Vibes). Example, I gave my friend an opportunity to choose any Lelouch sticker she wanna get. Before, when she was asking me for a particular sticker that she likes, I didn't give her any of them. :)) But since I was really happy a while ago, she got what she wanted. Plus she accompanied me during my "stalker-mode." :)). Okay, so much for the side story.

Anyway... After school, I went walking around Katipunan to go find the anime hobby store whose Ad I saw in Ministop. It's called the "Waku Waku Anime Hobby Shop." Here's the Ad that I saw:

So I got there and it appears that this FBR Arcade is the same building in Katipunan that houses Yellow Cab and Game Crab. I went looking for stuff, and the store is pretty much interesting. They have toys, figures, CDs, phone chains and more! There are even Stack-Up Cups -- a really popular hobby in Japan, and Pens specially designed for the art of "pen spinning." Yeah, I found out there's such a thing. :)) However as of today, the collection of items that they have on-hand is considerably small. The shop just opened 2 weeks ago.

About J-Pop CDs...they have original anime soundtrack CDs averaging at around 300php. Pretty cheap huh? They also have artists CDs, but sadly no JE. The owner said he has KAT-TUN's album, but he's not selling. He added that JE CDs are pretty expensive. Anyway, I hope they get into the business of importing JE CDs soon! [And I cross my fingers for them to be cheaper than online sellers!]

In the end, I only got daikon stickers..'coz I got no more money. :)) So to make up with it, I promised the owner I'd advertise for them, and blogging about this is the least thing that I could do.

Ranting on YamaNade Live

Warning: Contains rants. If you have a different opinion regarding Kame as Kyouhei, I suggest that you need not read any more of the contents here. No disrespect meant. I am just a loyal JE fan like any of you -- not to mention, a YamaNade fan. :)

Just yesterday Lexie, a friend of mine from school, told me that Kame as in Kamenashi Kazuya will be starring in a new drama together with Tego as in Yuya Tegoshi, and another JE person. I was excited for it until I found out that they would be remaking the best-selling Yamato Nadeshiko (The Wallflower) manga/uber-popular anime.

Which means that:
1. Kame is playing Kyouhei. The guy who is uber-pretty; the epitome of a bishounen. Which of course, in my personal opinion, wouldn't fit Kame's image. Why? Kame has been building up on his "rockstar-ish" image (consider Lips PV, One Drop PV) and now you're telling me he has to play as this really pretty boy who went away from home because he can't stand the people who admires his beauty? Rant. Rant. Rant.

2. Tego is playing Yuki. Which of course, is okay. He suits the role best. Tego's one of the prettiest boy in JE, so I guess playing as one of the prettiest boys in YamaNade would fit him best. :)

3. Guess who's playing Takenaga? Uchi Hiroki is making his major come-back. I don't really like Uchi as a JE guy. But let's just see. I like his pretty face though.

4. Yamapi's younger sister in Buzzer Beat is playing Sunako. She didn't really show much of her acting in Buzzer Beat 'coz it's a really minor role, but I guess she'll do fine. Plus, it amazingly fits her image (I kinda noticed the 'dark aura' Sunako should possess while I was watching Buzzer Beat last week. Call me crazy/weird but I really did. Or maybe it's just because of the full bangs. Haha)

Anyway, I don't know who's playing Ichimaru. I still have to check.

All-in-all, I guess this drama would do fine. I'm excited for it, but I can't still accept Kame as Kyouhei. Believe it or not, I think Jin would play a better Kyouhei than Kame, appearance-wise. Or MatsuJun. Oh well. We'll see with Kame's performance. :)

I've previously attended 3 Anime Conventions after a long cosplay hiatus~ :) Too bad I haven't had enough resources to have new costumes made. :(

Anime Overload Festival '09
My cousin Setti had to leave Cavite earlier than me so I got to the venue by myself at around 3pm. It was our first con that her whole family (with her mom and dad, and 2 little brothers) went with us. Come to think of it, that was only our 2nd con together, after last year's UP AME 8th Ave. :))

However, this one's probably the best shot that we had, considering that the right configs on Setti's camera is so hard to figure out and I'm too lazy to edit 'em.

Loveless

The full version of the song Loveless by Yamapi is finally out! It was just yesterday that I was drooling while listening to the song preview. Hahaha. Just counting days 'til the PV! OMG. I wanna jump for joy right now! ;p

I'll get my hands at those Loveless original Single Limited Edition A with DVD soon too! Hurray~ Thanks to my cousin for the early Christmas gift! It's really good to have someone close to me inside the same fandom. Hehe.

And not to mention, NEWS' Diamond Concert DVD will also be released soon! I'm super excited~~ (Though I'm not getting an original copy, I'm alwyas here to support NEWS!) :D

NEWS' DVD Covers Revealed

Finally, Johnny gave up being pasaway (sorry for the sudden use of a Tagalog word, but I just couldn't find a better word in English that could fit the description best) and announced that there would be a DVD for NEWS' Winter Diamond Party.

At last! After the long wait! Some fans were just beginning to accept that there would be no DVD (meaning no MOLA, Massuperman, nor Ghinza Rhapsody video taped!) But then, Johnny seemed to have a change in heart (so, credits also go to those fans who have whole-heartedly petitioned a DVD release)...and now the DVD is within our reach!

The only remaining question...HOW WOULD THE DVD COVER LOOK LIKE? "NEWS Winter Diamond Party" sounds too cool and elegant! It must match the theme right?

The answer Johnny gave us? *drumroll*

What the heck?! Am I actually spending more than 3 thousand pesos for that DVD? NO WAY.
Most fans (because I must admit, not everyone hated the covers) were in disbelief. Johnny must have not enough money to pay for photo editing. LOL

LMAO. I died. The concept amazingly fits! XD.

Anyway, let us just look at the brighter side. AT LEAST THERE IS A DVD. And the content must be 100% waaaaay better than those covers. The DVD will be released on November. ;)

I could have been blogging about the release of the Winter Diamond Party DVD, the 2nd solo single of Yamapi, or his first solo concert..but no. There are lots of things more important than my fandom. Being a Filipino comes first.

The Mystery of Code Geass' Ending

Code Geass is the first ever mecha anime I've seen (well, don't include Voltes V, Daimos, BTX). I'm not really a rooter for Shounen mechas...but I swear, as soon as I've seen one episode...I realized how awesome it is. I just have to complain here that after almost 5 months, I'm still confused with the ending.

Did Lelouch really die? It seems he did. When the fake Zero (Suzaku) killed him, it was so dramatic that you'll have no doubt about it. It made me cry, and I'm sure even you did (or at least, you felt like crying inside). But then, that last scene with C.C. just confused me.

C.C. was talking to someone...to Lelouch. Is she talking to Lelouch's soul in heaven (or assuming he's in hell), or that masked carriage driver..who might be Lelouch?

But if Lelouch were alive, the whole dramatization of his life would mean nothing.

Well, it's up for you to decide. I personally don't know. But right now, I'm 60% sure he's not dead...and that he is the carriage driver.

Hoping for a Fast Recovery...

I received this news while I was still out for dinner in this really cool strip of Japanese restaurants called Little Tokyo in Makati. What was supposed to be a really good night turned out to be something I expected the least. A NEWS fan, who appeared to be a past customer from JND, texted me this message telling that Ryo and Pi caught the Swine Flu. Apparently, they got it while taping for NTV's 24 hour TV. I was hoping it's all lies but no. Tokyograph and the jimusho just confirmed it.

I'm really hoping for their fast recovery. I'll really pray for this guys.

Nishikido, Yamapi struck by flu

Popular idols Ryo Nishikido (24) and Tomohisa Yamashita (24) have reportedly been infected with influenza A, according to a fax sent out by their management on Tuesday. It is said that there is a possibility that they have the H1N1 strain.

Nishikido was diagnosed with the flu on Monday, and Yamashita was diagnosed the following day. Their doctor has instructed them to take a break from work and remain confined to their homes until they recover.

Nishikido currently appears in the TBS drama series "Orthros no Inu." The seventh episode is scheduled to air on Friday, September 4, but some of Nishikido's scenes have still not yet been filmed. As a result, there may be changes to this week's broadcast, and future episodes will depend on his recovery.

Today, I saw this guy and OMG, dude! I was literally about to scream when I realized I'm in school and not in a convention. So I just gathered all the contents of those emotions with a smile. I think I did smile at everyone, even those whom I don't know. Hehehe. They might have thought I was crazy.

Anyway, he's really cute in person just like in all cosplay pictures he has modeled for. :) He's just wearing normal casual clothes, but his bag was that of a sling bag of your typical Japanese school boy. I'm not putting much details 'cause a little more info might give me an "obsessed fan" image. I AM NOT. I'm just happy I saw him. That's all. ;p

The designer's inspiration? Probably the work of this artist! I have been staring at this picture like crazy and gosh, I'm still in awe! Look at the similarity between the two! One could really tell Weeeek's execution's totally excellent!

Recently, a fan reported of seeing Tegoshi inside a bar's VIP section flirting with a blonde. Somehow, my clean "kiddo," kawaii image of Tegoshi has been damaged. Well, it has been damaged before too. I remember seeing paparazzi pics of him after a night in a club before, but it just went out of my mind for some reason (Tego's cuteness, perhaps?). Harhar.

I met this Japanese girl during a meet between two school orgs, ASEC of ADMU and Tomokai of UP. During the program, the members of Tomokai sang a Japanese DBSK/TVXQ song (I forgot the title, sorry). This Japanese girl whose name is Kanami (if I still remember it correctly), commented that the singers' diction is really good. She then asked me if I like DBSK, but then I said "No. I like groups from Johnny's more." The conversation then continued until we arrived at a common interest -- Arashi and Nino! And believe me, I could have died of jealousy when she told me she accidentally saw Nino and Aiba roaming around the streets of Shibuya. I was like "OMG. REALLY?"

But I didn't get to fangirl that much in front of them. They might think of me as weird, in which I think, I AM. Really. Hahahahaha. :))

I was browsing through some old pictures when I found these stuff taken last February during our field trip for our Leadership and Strategy 1o class. Turns out I become KINDA weird when I'm bored. LOL

I was vandalizing my friend's arm (yeah, arm) with all these fandom stuff.

If you don't get what's in the picture: "I'm straight. I (heart) Ryohei. Chiba Ryohei ga suki (I like you!)"

Anyway, Ryohei is a member of the J-pop group "w-inds." My friend Lexie is (or used to be) a fan so I got to be familiar with them. She's the one who wrote the Kanji for the name while I did the romaji and hiragana parts. I did vandal his arm is because Lexie once told me this guy finds Ryohei "good-looking." LOL. But trust me, he's not really gay. Hehe ;)

My nephew, Ice, has always been mistaken as a Japanese. Once, when one of my elder cousins (not the one in the video but Ice's mom) went to the hospital to have Ice's health checked, a hospital personnel approached and asked her "Hapon po ba asawa nyo?" [Is your husband Japanese?] My cousin was really amused. She politely answered "no," while thinking if that was supposed to be a racist comment, Japayuki judgement, or a compliment.

We were really in awe when she told us this story because my younger cousins and I have been calling Ice, "Yamada"-- we recognized that their resemblance is quite near! Ice responds when we call him Yamada, anyway. Though he keeps telling us he doesn't like him. Hahaha. I dunno why -- but then he idolizes Koki for his rap :D

First of all, I don't really address Tegoshi Yuya as Yuya. I call him "Tego or Tesshi." But then, I'm used to calling Takaki Yuya as "Yuya," so please don't confuse the two while reading this blog entry. :D

I love both Yuya Tegoshi and Yuya Takaki for their pretty faces. I don't know why but for me, they really do have a good resemblance (well, except for their names, that is). Anyway, these 2 people always come into my mind when people talk about "bishounens." Yeah. I consider them real life bishounens. WHY NOT? :D

I love Tego. He currently ranks 3rd on my JE ranking (well, Nino has already overtaken his spot for quite a time now). Tesshi really gives off this "kawaii" aura that anyone would have difficulty in hating -- though most of Tego's haters uses this feature to accuse him of being a "slut" or whatever. HEEEY. Sorry for being good looking! Here's one proof.

At first, I never saw Takaki Yuya as a pretty boy. Guess I was mistaken when I saw this picture. :) He seriously reminded me of Tego! ~~Of course, just being Tego, you should have lots of girly pictures like this. :D~~ Soooo pretty, Taka-chan!! ^^

With this, Tesshi and Yuya (Taka-chan) are really one of the prettiest boys in JE. I don't ask you to agree with me, this post is purely subjective. Well, Yamapi should also rank in. Hehehe :D

I attended Toujin's 1st GA a while ago. (Toujin is a Japanese culture appreciation org in the Ateneo). Since my friend Kris couldn't make it due to some medical reasons, I texted a JE fan who got into the school recently (who also used to be our customer when we were still in the JE shirt business). I was asking her if she still wants to join the org since I don't have someone to go with. She agreed and we had fun! Hi Rachelle (There, I spelled your name right ^^)

Anyway, after the program, a girl approached me and asked if I were a fan of Kanjani8. I immediately answered, "Yes! I'm a fan of Johnny's! Why? Are you a JE fan too?" " Yeah. I'm a fan of Kanjani8. I saw you wearing that shirt!"

Her name is Nicole, by the way...And yeah, I was wearing our johnnynodepato "Kanjani1" shirt. ~~Really, wearing any of johnnynodepato's shirts helps one to make new friends. Hehe~~

So we had a little chat..about LJ, fandom, and such things. The most shocking discovery was when I found out that she used to be our customer too! She and her friends bought several shirts (and ofcourse, being the on-hand manager of our business, I still remember her surname from the database. LOL) I wasn't the one who met-up with her anyway, it was my cousin.

The world of JE fandom is really small. We agreed to meet-up again sometime and organize a gathering near our school. Yay for JE fans! :D

To the most elite member of NEWS, I just couldn't let the day pass without droppin' by this blog to greet him...OTANJOUBI OMEDETOU, Shige-chu!

Shige actually used to be my least favorite NEWS member (Now, he's my 5th. Sorry Koyamama). But that doesn't mean I hate him... Actually like him -- his "fail" personality, and his looks too~ I even liked him after watching his episode of Shounen Club Premium, one morning. Then I felt like crying...I never knew idols would also feel "rejection" and "unpopularity." He speaks so well...as if speaking direct from his heart...~~As expected from a law student. I guess? Hehe :)~~

Kimi ni Todoke has new updates!

One of my favorite mangas, Kimi ni Todoke, has finally resumed to be updated! Though I just noticed it today, it seems like a scalation team started to accommodate this manga as their project recently.

Two chapter updates are enough to drive me like crazy. I'm totally into the Sawako x Kazehaya pairing! :) I like Kazehaya-kun!!! He gives off this 'really nice guy' aura. And I really think he likes Sawako, though he doesn't confess yet~ He blushes! Awww...

Oh! I've read that the mangaka will be resuming the manga this fall! Good job!!! I really really love this manga!!!

New JE Group: Yuma with B.I. Shadow

I just found out (obviously), that there will be a new JE group debuting this July called Yuma with B.I. Shadow. I'm not really a fan of this news, honestly -- what in hell is old Johnny-san thinking? I personally think he should just focus on what he currently have, maintaining every group of his agency's popularity.

I wouldn't be surprised if this group YwBIS, wouldn't be as popular as their fellow talent group, Hey! Say! Jump. HSJ has been accepted because they were a unique addition to the JE circa during their debut considering their age and a mixture of different personalities. Considering this, another Heisei era group of people might not receive the same feedback since most people expect them to be a mere copy of the former.

However, this is purely coming from my own point of view and there is nothing I can do with Johnny-san's decision whether I like it or not.

Tanabata Matsuri PV Preview | Blaue Rosen

I'm still updating myself from the JE fandom due to my hiatus during almost 3wks of summer vacation. I discovered that the short version of Tegomass' Tanabata Matsuri has been released for some time now.

I would want to as much as possible keep myself from ranting about Massu's hair but I HONESTLY THINK IT'S A DISASTER. Massu's hair looks as if someone sprinkled potato flour over it. I doesn't look good on him at anyway.. No offense Massu fans, I love him just much as you do. :|

Anyway, I was at Fully Booked in Gateway when I noticed this manga, my favorite among all gender benders that I have read -- Ai wo Utau Yori Ore ni Oborero!!! (I'm still having a hard time memorizing this long title). The English version of the manga carries the title 'Blaue Rosen,' the band's name. To my shock, it's printed on a really cheap version!!! Php289 for a manga -- a bargain! Unfortunately, I don't have my money yet, so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed no one takes it away before I do. :|

Tegomass + Yamapi Updates

Being away from the online world is not good for my fandom. Before, I used to be always updated when it comes to new discographies, guestings, dramas and such. But without the internet, I'm having a difficult time catching up. If this continues, my fandom might be in great danger. And no, I wouldn't want that to happen -- it's just too early to give up this craziness. :|

Anyway, right now I'm using my Tita's computer and is trying to keep myself up with the JE news.

I just found out that Tegomass will be releasing a new single "七夕祭り" (Tanabata Matsuri) and a new album, テゴマスのうた" (Tegomasu no Uta) this July 8 and July 15, respectively. I got the information here. :) Yay! Couldn't wait for more heartwarming Tegomass songs! I really love their songs especially Kiss Kaerimichi no Love Song and Ai Ai Gasa :)

Also, Yamapi seems to be very busy these days. He has been playing basketball for some time now, as told by himself through his nikki. The reason is, Yamapi has a new drama!! :) The title is still unofficial -- some sources said it would be called "Match Point," while others used "Buzzer Beat." Anyway, Fuji TV hasn't confirmed the title yet and the tentative airing date is July 13th. Wow. Pi as a basketball player? *nosebleeds* (Yeah yeah, I love basketball players. Guys who can't play basketball are not guys at all. Hahaha. That's just me.) I keep on hoping that they play real basketball *ehem HotShot-is-not-REAL-basketball ehem*

I really miss Pi!! :| I watched Code Blue all over again with my Ate last weekend, while last night I began watching ProDai again. I just finished it this morning, including the SP. I BADLY MISS HIM. :(

100th Post Special! :D Part 1!

Yay for my 1ooth post! Honestly, this is the reason why I haven't been updating this blog since May 6-- I need to make this post a little bit special. Well, yeah. But I was also busy with school. Who would have thought that this 6 weeks of summer would almost feel like a whole semester to me? The workload for Stat!! Aah.. Good thing it's all over now. Hahaha.

Back to the topic. Maybe I should discuss some of the animes, dramas and mangas I have seen for these past few weeks. (Haha! How could this be any special? This will just be a one long review).

ANIME

Vampire Knight Guilty
I have finally seen Vampire Knight Guilty! I stopped reading the manga until that chapter when Kaname was revealed to be Yuuki's brother. But hey, I like Zero-Yuuki more that's why I got kinda annoyed that Season 2 ended up with Kaname and Yuuki leaving the school together. And what's up with Zero's "One day I'll kill you?!" And Yuuki's "I'll be waiting?!" It's kilig but...argh!! Should it end that way!? I want them together please!!! Season 3 come out!!!

Code Geass 1 & 2
This is actually the first Mecha anime I liked and watched other than Voltez V and Daimos?. Hehe. This anime caught my attention when a television station in the Philippines started airing it. It's really political but interesting. I like the ironies used -- a Britannian prince fighting against Britain using Japanese armies (Lelouch/Zero) and a Japanese elite who chose to be an honorary Britannian citizen to serve the Britannian army (Suzaku). Best friends turned worst enemies turned best friends again = weird. Of course I hated Suzaku all throughout the series! AND I HATED THE ENDING. I know Zero should really die because of all his sins and such but...it's really sad for him to die like that! All he wanted is a peaceful world for his sister (who'll be brainwashed to become his enemy) and to avenge the that of his mother (who'll turn out to be alive). Kind of stupid, but take those factors out, it is really good. I like him, even his evilness. :)

This is my first gender-bender manga series. Well I have read a few gender-bender one shots before but not as hardcore as this one. When I say hardcore, I'm referring to how the characters here look like. Akira (the guy) is just too girly for a man while Mizuki (the girl) is just too pretty boy-looking. But since I'm used to seeing bishounens, sometimes I feel like I'm reading a yaoi manga in disguise while reading this series. Hahaha. I just couldn't see Mizuki as a girl. Give it a try, it's a pretty good read. :)

Because I've already seen the first season of the anime and couldn't wait until the next season, I have decided to try reading the manga. Now the story is in progress but why does Len have to leave?! Would he really leave? Oh no, please don't. HinoxLen is like my favorite pairing in this series! (And I'm developing a major crush on Tsukimori! Ooops. But Tamahome of FY is still my ichiban. LOL)

My Barbaric Girlfriend

Another gender-bender wherein a girly boy and a manly girl swapped bodies accidentally. The boy became manly (with the manly girl inside his body) while the girl became girly (with the girly boy inside his body). But this is much weird since both characters entered into guy-to-guy and girl-to-girl relationships (of course not with their own bodies, making it look like a normal relationship). It's like a yaoi and yuri in heart, hidden physically with those bodies. What makes it more weird is that their bf and gf are their best friends when they are still normal!

One of my favorite mangas ever! Actually, this is the second time I've read it. I've re-read all 35 chapters :) OMG. Reading it for the second time is just like reading it for the first time!! It basically had the same effect on me. ARATA FOREVER!!!

Okay, if you plan to read this manga then atleast be open-minded. You might get offended with Ikeyamada-sensei's ecchi style. However, it's bearable -- not the super yucky ecchi type. It's actually more smut-type than mature-type :)

In the right is Arata, in the left is Takara.
They do have different eye colors (notice that Arata's are blue). :D

*Spoilers alert*

What I love about about this manga is Arata's cute way of loving Hikaru. He's really rude and annoying but surprisingly sweet. HE REALLY LOVES HER. The ending was the best that could ever happen. If Hikaru ended up with a jerk like Takara (leaving her just like that and then suddenly returning saying that he regrets everything?! Go to hell.), then it would be a total waste to read this. Sorry Takara fans, he's sweet but Arata loves Hikaru the most. :))

Obviously I'm a Hikaru-Arata fan, therefore I'm kinda 'bitin' how the story progressed between them. I mean, it was Hikaru-Takara for almost 2/3 of the story!! And count the kisses and moe moments between them and compare them to HikArata's kisses and moments? (So few!! But hey! They ended up together! A perfect ending and conclusion! What else could I wish for?) :)

So NEWS has been performing Koi no ABO in various television shows these days. Good for them -- 'cause you know, I've been waiting for like months for this! I'm really happy! (^___^)

Anyway, newshfan made the guesting in Music Station available for download last Friday -- I was really excited! And so I downloaded it only to find myself in horror -- WHAT IN HELL HAPPENED TO PI'S HAIR?? I couldn't even look at him ~~(okay, I'm exaggerating since it's Pi I'm talking about here).~~ The hairstyle was just a TOTAL DISASTER. Talk about weird Japanese guy in AFRO! (ToT) Pi-sama, COME BACK!!!

I was really hoping (for days now) that that afro hairstyle should not be permanent!!! Good thing, A-chan, a girl from facebook redirected us to this link (the latest performance of NEWS in Hey3x). AND FOR GOODNESS SAKE, THE HAIRSTYLE BECAME NORMAL AGAIN! (Haha, forgive me, I'm just really happy for this news.)

I just had a very wonderful 18th birthday celebration with my HS (Pach and Myka) and college friends (SMACKLES)! I love you guys forever! :) Though other Ka21ngs weren't able to come, I appreciate the attempt ^^ The thought was enough.

Yamapi has always been my JE ichiban. Well, I actually owe everything to Oguri Shun-kun and Ninomiya-chan. If not for following Shun in Stand Up!, I wouldn't even discover Yamapi. My Akame loving cousins, on the other hand, used to hate him. But I chose to love this very talented guy -- who couldn't resist the charm of his live performance in Daite Senorita?

Ever since, I followed Yamapi and discovered his band NEWS. Getting into a certain fandom is not that easy. If you want yourself to be fully recognized as a fan, you must be knowledgeable about them -- at least in the basics. It's like studying their past, riding on with their present, and looking forward to their future.

I never had a fandom that lasted for more than 2 years, but I think this JE (specifically Yamapi and NEWS) fandom will be much longer. :D Yes, I'm quite sure about that.

This side of Yamapi always gets me into trouble. My friends think of me as a perv, just because I find topless Yamapi hot. What the hell. I'm a fan, and I think it's normal. Hehe. I have this separate folder in my fan files that contains the An-an pictorials of Pi and Jun. I labeled it as "xxx an-an." Ofcourse, I got into trouble when my guy blockmates saw that and thought I collect porn pics. What the!!! Hahaha. Kita kasi dun pwet ni Pi, so it's natural that I wouldn't mix it up with regular pics!

When I say member ai or member love, most of my friends couldn't understand how different it is from Yaoi or boy love. They are two different things okay! While yaoi is between two bisexuals or homosexuals doing sexual intercourses, member ai is purely fan service (with straight sexuality and no sex!) Well, I use that definition. ;p

Obviously, RyoPi is my favorite. Seeing them together is just too cute! They have known each other for such a long time. Pi even said that almost half of his life was spent with Ryo-chan (refer to Vibration member rap by NEWS!)

The Love Outside NEWS

Knowing Yamapi, he is a very friendly person. He has lots of bestfriends outside the boundaries of NEWS. Toma is one special guy (I'm a Tomapi fan). Once, Yamapi said in an interview that he is Toma's weakness, because Toma never gets angry with him! Hahaha! OMG. Super cute! AKamePi is also another thing. While I'm sure with Pin (Pi+Jin) friendship, I just don't know KamePi. Shuuji to Akira is long over, and I know they used to hate each other. Pin on the other hand still hangs out together. Just this April, Yamapi wrote in his diary that he slept over Jin's place and Jin's mom even woke him up! Hehe.

I'm not sure if Nino and Yamapi are still close until this very day. Though they used to be, refering back to their Stand Up days :) Takki is the senpai Yamapi admires the most. He is also the reason why Yamapi entered JE. Other friends include Shirota Yuu, Shun, and Teppei.

When NEWS came back after a year of hiatus, the Yamapi cups were introduced (Hoshi wo mezashite). :D Oh, I so love this trademark! Everytime NEWS releases a new PV, I feel nervous for the cups (if it will appear or not.) But hey! Yamapi never fails to entertain us with that baka trademark! With cousins Rio and Mara!

Actually, I was supposed to come with my college friends but all of them backed-out last minute. But anyway, I was really thankful to Rio for accompanying me. When I convinced her last Friday, I told her my plan and she got interested.

We came as your generic school girls :)
No specific anime to cosplay, just rushed the costumes the day before.
We actually re-used old school uniforms shortened them a bit (got to thank my mom for doing the job!) and got the additional sleeveless sweater thingy from the thrift shop. The ribbons were made by a resident dressmaker just across our house during the day of the cosplay itself. ;p

We left home at about 10am, and arrived at my dorm 2pm (Yep! Traffic! D:)

It was a stressing but fun day!

Personal highlights:
-Sora of Kingdom Hearts: I saw him again! The An Cafe dude from UP AME. :))

-Got to love L.

-Haha! I met my HS classmate, Deus who came as Momo from PoT! :D Yeah!

-The Seigaku Team (and the never ending photo op!)

-That Vampire Knight night class dude (not sure if he's Aido or Ichijo, 'coz they're both blonde). Reminds me of Miura Haruma in Koizora (the hair, mhen!)

-Special A! (It was my initial plan to come as Hikari, really!)

-Cool J-rockers! I was guessing they're Alice Nine, or if not Nightmare. :D

We actually discovered who Haru-chan is when my cousin lent me their Gokusen 3 DvD. I was actually more for Taka-chan than that for Haru-chan. ;p My cousins and I always bring up the topic "Yuya vs Miura." Of course, I'm for Yuya, and they are for Miura, but no one actually wants to admit defeat. Hahaha.

I loved him soooo much in Koizora! Whew, he was such a hottie! And I cried a lot when he died!! :(( I think that was the time when I began to like him more (but as I have said, not more than how much I love Taka-chan. LOL).

Response to Johnny's April Fool's Prank

Awright! So they were really telling the truth when they said that the preview for Koi no ABO by NEWS will be released by yesterday. Thought it was going to be a double April Fool's prank. Harhar. The preview for the song and the PV is finally out, and I'm really having a good feeling about this one.

THIS IS GOING TO BE EPIC! LMAO.

The song has this "disco feel" in it that would get you to sing along with them! Something like "Fever to Future" by GYM type. And wth, the preview for the PV made me laugh so much. I was like, "Wow! Don't U Ever Stop setting + Kanjani8 dance steps!" Hehehe. Everyone will get what I mean sooner. :) Atleast, Johnny is now spending for their PV! Talk about their previous low budget PVs. *ehem*

And finally, it was revealed that ABO must really refer to bloodtypes. Japanese people really seem to care about bloodtypes and their connection with personalities. I just don't get it. Here in the Philippines, some people doesn't even know/care what their bloodtype is! Oh well, I just have to get over it since my fandom is really of different culture. ;p

And oh. I love everyone's look! :D Atleast Yamapi's hair wasn't that bad; Ryo-chan finally got rid of that weird "Happy Birthday" hairstyle; Shige finally dyed his hair black and re-styled the annoying "Shounen Club Premium" hair; Massu's hair is growing and looking good; Tesshi looks good in that long hairstyle; Kei-chan got that style maintained but improved at the same time.

But I do miss the "Summer Time" look days. :| Oh well. :D

Can't wait until April 29!!!

Yeah. Yesterday. Hahaha. And so I checked the lj communities and found that there have been April Fool's pranks everywhere. And yeah, even in Johnny's website! LOL.

Yesterday, the site announced that the fans could now listen to the preview of NEWS' new single, Koi no ABO. But when you click the link, it was just a prank! Darn it! Hahaha. But anyway, the real preview should be released by tonight :D

Oooops. Last post for the month of March! Yay! 11 posts! Hmmm. Not bad for an uber-busy month, eh?

Anyway, I've read this manga "B.O.D.Y" which I got curious about, when we were in Fully Booked. So I tried reading it online, and yeah it was great! Moe~ Hehe. Unluckily, the series is incomplete so I'm really bitin right now!

Basically, it's the story of this girl named Ryouko Sakura who gets a a crush on this guy Fuji Ryuunosuke, only to find out he's really working part-time as a host! Hehehe. I know right? What an interesting story! If you're a shoujo maniac like me, yes. DO READ THIS. But be prepared to get bitin anyway. I found the raws but my Jap skill is really bad for now. Oh well.

The guy in black and white stripes -- his outfit seriously reminds me of Jin in Keep the Faith! Bwahaha!

It was actually hard for me to decide to make Taka-chan my favorite JUMP. I used to be a Yuto-bait. Well actually, Yuto was the one who got me into JUMP. So I really owe him ;p But he's just too young for me. Considering Taka-chan, he's just right! Hehehe

KnS as Best Drama?!

Hahahaha. I dunno if I should be happy or what, but this news seriously confused me O_0.

Kame's Kami no Shizuku just won as the Best Drama during the 12th Nikkan Sport Drama Grand Prix! OMG. Are you kidding me? Of course not, this gotta be serious man. :|

I've previously blogged about KnS's bad nationwide ratings averaging only 4-5% per episode, and now it won the Best Drama? Look, I'm not trying to be a b*tch here -- I'm a fan of Kame too. I'm just trying to analyze what the heck is going on.

Okay, and so I realized that Nikkan Awards is really done through online voting. Of course fangirls would vote for Kame and KnS, just to make-up for the bad ratings.

"Nikkan Sport is not a really accurate nor trusted indicator within the Japanese entertainment industry since it is purely audience voting, which can be easily swayed. The Television Drama Academy Awards, on the other hand, is more accurate as the ranking is the combined results of votes from the magazine readers, juries, and TV journalists."

It's been a while since I posted something about a manga! Hurray!

Anyway, since the school year is ending soon, I rarely read mangas or even watch doramas and animes. One-shot mangas are like the heaven's answer to this longing. LOL

I like one-shots since they are really short and most stories are good. Right now, I use mangafox's search option limited to one-shot and shoujo genres. Hahaha. Shoujo mangas are fun to read, especially when you are the NBSB type like me :D Hehehe. *Shameless admittance*

I recommend this one! Short but cute! :D Hehehe. Brother-complex :)

Anyway, I heard that Kame's drama isn't doing really well. It's kinda sad to think that many fans even anticipated Kame's return to the television drama world. :(

The rating for episode 8 is only 4.9%. Sad ne~ I haven't seen the drama myself but I'm hearing lots of complaints on how disappointing the drama was. (T_T) Sorry Kame, wrong decision of accepting the drama. I think it's not really Kame's fault, but the story line itself.

Kami no Shizuku is about wines and alcohol anyway. What's so interesting about that? It's sad. (T_T)

Okay, I've been really busy this month (and might even be busier next March) that I almost failed to reach my minimum fan posts per month. My aim is to at least post 10 entries a month, you see.

Anyway, I heard that Kanjani8 is releasing a new album soon entitled "Puzzle." Hurray for K8! This time, I'm hoping to hear non-cheery music, not necessarily sad but less bubblegum pop.

This makes me sad for NEWS. I seriously miss them! I want a new PV! How long will it take for them to release a new single?? Or when will the DVD for Diamond be released? I'm too impatient! Waaah. Announce at least a new drama for Pi or a lead role for Ryo and I'll end this rant right now. XP. Of course as an ordinary fan, I can do nothing but wait for something to happen.

Johnnynodepato is getting more and more inactive these days. My schoolworks interferes with our business and vice-versa. Sometimes, I feel that it's quite unfair that I always get to work hard and maintain the business site, meet customers, organize promos and advertise, while my cousin only does the rare job of shopping for the shirts (per batch) and meeting customers in the southern area. *Sigh* And we get the same amount of incentives. Oh well.

Speaking of JND, I discovered this newly opened online Malaysian fan shop that sells imitation JE shirts (like us) over LJ. This isn't an issue about competition. What bothers me is that she dared to use the pic I personally took for the back design of our KAT-TUN QOP shirt. I know it's my shot since the background used is even the bedsheets in our room! I want to scold her and let her earn a lesson of learning to ask permission before posting first, but I accidentally deleted the comment I already typed. Lucky her for not experiencing my "wrath", especially when I'm in this kind of stressed mood. X)

Kame's Birthday Parteeh!

I'm late by one day.
Oh well, Otanjoubi Omedetou from the Philippines, Kamenashi Kazuya! ^^

Anyway, it was my nephew's baptismal the day before Kame's birthday. My cousins and I were on the reception when I mentioned that Kame's birthday was going to be really near. Rio corrected me by clarifying that Turtle's birthday would be the day after the baptismal (February 23)! I immediately thought of having a celebration since there would be no classes on that day in our country.

So we planned to have a sushi party for him! Good thing that the supermarket was so near the reception area that we just asked for the help of our elder cousin to drive us there. We had a hard time finding the crab meat, sushi mat and nori so we had to commute to get into another supermarket. We really exerted a lot of effort. Rio said that even though Ate Len, Kame's official wife in our clan, was not even going to be there to celebrate with us, we still did it that big! She would have work that day. :(

Back to the party planned. On the 23rd, Rio and I started making sushi at 10am. We had our little cousins help us too. Party balloons that were used during Keichi's baptismal were reused while our little cousins designed each balloons with doodles of Kame's name, etc and also made the banner.

This is our little cousin Yomi, whose ichiban is Massu. She used to be Kame's ex fangirl though. We convinced her to let Kame go for Ate Len. LOL. By the way, K & A are kani sushis while M, E, and the heart-shaped thingys are all california makis. It was my idea to shape them all like that. ^^

These people (actually my cousins) were trying to pose with the set-up we made. We don't have a printed pic of Kame ready, so we just used a laptop as a pic. We even changed our wallpapers for Kame's special day. That boy who looks annoyed is Ice, one of my nephews (child of my cousin). I'm proud to say that he is a Koki fanboy. LOL

Rio made these 3 special sushi! 3 KAMEs (Turtles) of course. :D

Our final pose! They were really yummy! Our efforts were paid-off. :D After eating, we extended our celebration by playing guess the tune, badminton and basketball.

Ryo-chan Won Best Supporting Actor!

School is keeping me really busy that I don't even have the time to go home (or atleast write a proper blog entry here, or read my friend's page on lj, etc.etc.)! Yesterday, I was sooo in the mood to write and rant about our loss during this interclass basketball competition that I wanna kill this player who was hugging me all the time, and the ref wasn't even calling a single foul, dammit. *Sorry for the run-on sentence* But yeah, I don't have the time since I had my Fil report done. We actually lost by a single point! Shame on me that I didn't even score a single basket. LOL

Anyway, this might be late but I just found out that Ryo-chan actually won an award for Ryusei no Kizuna as the Best Supporting Actor (TVLIFE awards)! Amazingly, he was also the 2nd Best Supporting Actor for Last Friends. WOW. I know you deserve it more than everyone so, omedetou Ryo-chan!!

Likewise, Ohno also won the Best Actor award for Maou, awarded the Best Drama. It's so funny that I was just recently talking or debating about who is the better actor among the two JE idols (see my previous blog post)! No doubt they are both good.

Only, it's not fair to compare a lead and a support. Well, Ryo-chan should definitely earn a lead role for this! He is always a support but never the main! It's quite unfair for a guy with that acting skill! *Gyaaa~* I love you Ryo! :)

Why NEWS is Loved. :)

"Why do you love NEWS?" This topic is currently one of the hottest discussions in the news_jpop community @lj.

I've read various and interesting reasons why fans love the group. I was so amazed to read all these sincere reasons, straight from a fangirl/fanboy's heart.

I admire snowflakezz's short but *boom* answer: "KAT-TUN sucked me into JE but NEWS made me stay."

As for my case, Arashi was my first JE group. But there was something with NEWS and Yamapi that got me rooting for them. An invisible bond that ties me into liking them more.

yumenostalgic's answer is definitely a favorite for this discussion. "My reason is that, maybe for me to choose a singer or a band itself, I look/research more on each others personalities and well life. One main reason why I liked NEWS is that 4 out of 6 members of their group are studying/graduated from college aside from being a member of NEWS."

I find this so true. One day, they are going to retire, looks will fade away, fans will leave as they grow older and older -- a sad reality of an idol's life. By that time, what else can they do but to use what they've learned in college?

And lastly, heroismine's answer. "...the group who survived the greatest test of all, self reflection days. all of them had gone to a depressing stage in their career, its good to know they were able to overcome that, ~~and still hoping they will become 8 members someday. Even if they wont, they still support Uchi and Kusano.~~" *Sorry for that, I admit that I'm a 6-member NEWS fan*

NEWS is here to stay. Despite all the obstacles they've encountered, they were able to come back. They fell down seven times, but they stood up eight.

Of course Arashi has all these TV shows, singing and dancing skills.
Of course KAT-TUN looks way cooler in terms of PVs.
Of course Kanjani8 skits are way funnier.

But NEWS is loved by the fans for who they are now -- the not-so-good, not-so-funny, under-exposed JE group of all.

Just by being NEWS, by being together, a group with the most amazing group chemistry on JE, they are and will always be loved. :)

MatsuJun as a Half-Fil, Half-Jap :D

Hurray! Finally, after the long wait! :)

Jun will have a new drama soon this April entitled "Smile"! And this time he's playing as a Half-Fil, Half-Jap person, whose Filipino father died due to some reason. He's currently living with his Japanese mother.

Wow. This fact made me sooo excited. Could this be it? Jun, another Arashi member after Aiba, going to the Philippines to shoot for the drama?! OMG. If they would, then I would surely travel wherever the shoot is going to be (or be in the airport to wait for Jun-sama's arrival, hehe) *stops daydreaming*:D

But of course, not all Filipino fans are happy about this fact, taking things seriously. Most Filipinos are afraid of being stereotyped. They develop this sense of unity and pride as a Filipino. Thinking about things like: Are they going to show the bad things about being a Filipino (like being a DH, a prostitute or a third world country person) or what? Grabe naman. Audiences are not stupid, so I hope not.

Oh well, it can't be helped. We have different stands regarding this issue. Basta I want Jun here naaaa! Hahaha.

Anyway, "Smile" will air on April, every Friday 10pm. :)

Ohno vs Ryo: Better Actor?

I received a text message from Onee-san who appeared to be watching Maou. She was admiring how good Ohno's acting was, compared to Jun and Kame (whom she said to have same facial expressions for all emotions). She even commented how Toma got ran over by Ohno's acting, and it's too bad that Ohno doesn't have face value. But still she considers Ohno as the best Japanese actor she has ever seen so far.

Anyway, I answered by texting that Ohno's acting skill is really superb that he won a best actor award for Maou. But of course, Ryo-chan can match that of Ridaa's, especially in Last Friends.

My sister has already seen how Ryo's acting. So I wasn't shocked when she texted back "Of course! Ryo is still the best! One Litre pa lang, he's really good na. That's where Ohno loses, he has no face value."

LOL. Whatever Ate. He's still Arashi's leader, he can't be an idol without the looks, okay? Don't go reveal yourself. You'll gonna get killed by angry Ohno fans. Hehehe.

I seriously love the PV. I dunno why some fans don't like it. I find it hot, because of those mouth-dropping cars with their initials and birthdays as the plate numbers. *super amazed.*According to springswan of LJ, the KAT-TUN boys used Hummer, Ford, Cadillac, Chrysler, Lincoln (all limousines!) as their rides for the PV. Waaa! Hihihi. HOTNESS much!

Anyway, I wasn't expecting to like the song. When I first heard of the preview, it sounded ordinary to me and nothing much. But hey, as you listen to it, you'll actually learn to love it. *hmmm. psy101*

Waaa~ I'm seriously teary-eyed right now. Yeah, I'm kinda emotional. I'm so jealous of the American fans who were able to see Sho in person! I've been reading various fan reports, from the POV of ordinary fans to the powerful (those with media connections). It was awesome. It was a dream come true for them.

I got this video from joannakuang of lj. I'm not sure if I can post it here though. I do not claim this vid as my own anyway.

The fans were all singing A.RA.SHI and Sho really looked amazed, thankful and happy! Thanks to joanna for sharing the vid. At least for a moment it felt like I was there, it gave me goosebumps.

Sukiyanen Osaka Distorted Version!

MatsuJunPH's Sho Bash!

This is a very late report for MatsuJun PH's birthday bash for Sho Sakurai last Sunday. I got so busy and lazy so I wasn't able to write one. X)

Well actually, I'm not a member of the MJPH forums. It just happened that Gent, the forum moderator, was buying an uchiwa from me. We couldn't meet earlier so she asked if I could come instead on Sho's birthday party MJPH prepared. And so that's it! I crashed the birthday bash! Hahaha.

Gomen to those people I bothered. Nice meeting you! I only remember a few names like Gent, Ate Sandee, Jewel and her sister, Rachel, Jena. I'm bad at remembering names so forgive me, I'm sure I would still recognize those people I haven't mentioned (like the girl with Rachel, the other mod and her sister, and the one girl infront of me during the quiz) ^^

Anyway, I had so much fun! There was a game in which we have to pass the conversation "Merong may birthday sa Arashi ngayon." "Sinong may birthday sa Arashi ngayon?" "Si Sho Sakurai." "Ahh, si Sho Sakurai." LOL. This was fun. And I made our team lose. Hahaha. I accidentally answered "Sino? Si Sho Sakurai??" :))

Things I've learned about Sho from the quiz game.
-He was born on January 25, 1982 (I wrote 1980!)
-He influenced Koki Tanaka to start rapping. (Guessed this right!)
-His blood type is A and so with all Arashi members except Aiba, an AB.
-He has 2 siblings. (Lucky guess!)
And so more info on Arashi I seriously don't have an idea at all.

Ate Sandee just got home from a Fahrenheit concert in Singapore, so she brought home lots of goodies and stories. I'm not a T-Pop/K-Pop fan but listening to her stories made it seem to be so much fun. Fan reports rule! Hihi.

I envy her for getting that close (they got the "nosebleed seats!") She was even able to give her gift for Calvin in person. Why can't JE go and have a concert at Singapore/HK at that price rate? They got their seats for only P6k and was able to catch the round trip P1.5K air fare promo of Cebu Pacific. It's impossible for a JE concert. (T_T)

So I got these goodies from Ate Sandee for fweee, her pasalubong to the group. Thanks much Ate! (I'm actually shy to think that I'm only a party crasher and I got this much. Gomen, people.)

Sho-chan is really one of my favorite Arashi members. But until now, I can't decide over Sho and Jun (yuck, feeler hehe). Of course, it's MatsuJun after watching his dramas (in love with the character), but it's Sho after watching Shukudai. ~~But Nino will always be my Arashi ichiban!~~

Have you ever seen a real "M" idol? The one who enjoys pains? Is there really one of a kind that exists? Then, this man here, Sho might be the answer. Hehehe. After falling into the trap of a board game, he was punished with a "spicy beard" and was screaming "ouch.ouch." for like the whole time. But look at his expression and what he said after the punishment (with those nostrils, eeww). HAHAHA! Cuteeee.

So much for Sho's baka side. He isn't all about bakaness, we are also talking about one of the most talented and most influential JE idols here. Who influenced Koki to rap? Who helped MatsuJun graduate High School? Who inspired Pi, Kei, Shige and Tego to continue and aim to get a degree in school? Of course, they all owe it to Sho-chan. ^^

Sho isn't called "SakuRap" for nothing. He raps straight from the heart. Fans can feel the determination, and the passion for every single word he utters. An Arashi single feels incomplete without the SakuRap. ^^

Based on what the fangirls (like me) know, the band had already set the record last August 2008, on the ~~only~~ artist that was able to hold a concert in Tokyo dome for 4 consecutive days (along with another artist which I'm not familiar with). I don't consider myself a "hardcore" KAT-TUN fan. But yeah, I'm sooo proud of them ~~at the same time jealous for NEWS, LOL.~~ When I was just a beginning fangirl, I asked this Arashi fangirl, "Who's the most popular JE group in Japan today?" She answered, "KAT-TUN." I actually didn't believe it, thinking Arashi would still be more popular than them. But hey, now there's no room for doubt. :D

My classmate Lexie and I were having a fangirl-talk a while ago at school. She was asking me "if w-inds members were in Johnny's, in what group they should be?"

Okay, first is Ryohei Chiba. I immediately thought of him in Arashi. Why? ~~Because he looks a lot like Sho-chan to me. LOL~~ I dunno, it seems like he'll fit in ~~with that kawaii face that matches Sho's Hehe~~. Arashi needs a break dancer too. And his voice is not bad ('cause he can't be Arashi if he can't sing, yeah right).Ryohei

Second, we have Ryuichi Ogata. On what I know of Ryuichi, he is a really funny and baka person. From that matter only, he can be an eighter. :)) Kanjani8 for Ryuichi! ~~Hurray for Subaru's long lost brother!Hehehe.~~ Anyway, Lexie has her own opinion. Since she's the "w-inds expert" which I am not, she told me that Ryuichi can sing for KAT-TUN with his voice. Nobuta's Public Exposure

This is SERIOUSLY not funny. It has been confirmed that ABS-CBN will soon be airing "Nobuta wo Produce," exposing JE's Yamapi, Kame, and Yuto to the general public. DAMMIT. If this is a NIGHTMARE, I wanna wake up now.

One of things I worry the most when it comes to fandom is now here. Soon, "fake" fangirls crowding into Yamapi and calling themselves his fans will also be here. Calling Yamapi, "Akira" not even knowing who the hell he really is. Using "Kon~Kon" all the time, etc, etc.

So, what's my problem? Of course I have no right nor in the position to say all these stuffs. But I just hate it when I think about Yamapi's popularity rising like that of F4's. WTF. That would be a serious disaster for all the current fangirls. I'm selfish when it comes to Pi. I don't even want to imagine.

I'm so tired. And this news made me feel a looooot WORSE [and agitated, dammit].

From a KAT-TUN community in LJ: There is a rumor going around (published in a Singaporean/Chinese magazine) about Kusano joining KAT-TUN! Included in the article were a huge picture of Kusano and a pic of QOPII DVD. Nyahahaha. :)) Waaaah!

What the f***, right?! What are they thinking, seriously?? And what? They'll rename KAT-TUN to K2AT-TUN? ROFLOL. Hehehe. Call me evil, but THIS DEFINITELY WON'T HAPPEN, unless Johnny wants to die through assassination.

On Koizora (Movie) and Miura Haruma

My eyes are all swollen, and it's all Koizora's fault. Darn you Miura Haruma for making me cry this much! [Okay. You too Shiraishi-sensei, ehem, I mean Aragaki Yui].

Actually, being a JDrama addict myself, the ending and the plot twists are somewhat predictable. It's nothing new, but the fact that Miura is the main actor made me cry. [I know, I'm gay.] I've seen One Litre of Tears and Taiyou no Uta, so I was kind of ready for a heavy drama like this [or atleast I thought I was].

I don't actually want to do a review on this but I want to write something about Miura, whom I'm beginning to like more and more. I've said I like Takaki Yuya better than Miura [note: Gokusen 3], but after what I saw and what I'm seeing [currently watching Binbo Danshi], I'm not so sure. My cousins will definitely kill me [or maybe tease me lang naman] if they find out I now like Miura better than Yuya. [Why aren't you a Johnny's kasi Miura?? Waaah~ You are definitely one JE-material dude!]

Anyway, I've heard that the Koizora series isn't that good as the movie. So I might as well not see Koizora the series, ne? Waaa~ More Miura dramas please! [Maybe I'll see Crows Zero II soon! Hihihi].

I dunno, but I'm totally inlove with this song. It's like Chirarizumu Part II! :)) OMG. I super love you KoyaShige! I can't help but smile while listening to this song. The rythm is so groovy and catchy. Honestly, I don't understand the lyrics but knowing KoyaShige's Chirarizumu, this definitely has to be naughty. Hehehe ^__^. I wanna see the dance steps and I would definitely learn it. :D

Yamapi's Queen of Pirates Appearance :

During KAT-TUN's tour, I've heard of Yamapi's surprise appearance. [This was after Summer Time and before Happy Birthday, when NEWS was still hanging out doing nothing for a long period of time]. I've also seen several fancams in youtube, so I kinda expected that Yamapi has to be in the DVD. Luckily, he didn't fail me. It was sooo cute -- he was imitating the KAT-TUN style of talking to fans. [But honestly, I think it's just Koki's way. Hehehe].

Tu-Yu
I didn't know such group exists! I saw their latest PV, "Soba ni Iru Yo" up for grabs in the HSJ community, so I thought it was HSJ's new single. [Someone told me HSJ has a new single?! What the -- seriously?! I'm not updated kasi when it comes to HSJ.] So I got shocked when I saw Massu (of NEWS) with Hikaru (of HSJ) with some other 3 dudes singing! Hahaha. It turns out Tu-Yu is a subgroup formed to advertise this certain product. Okay, I didn't know that, seriously.

The day I blogged about Kimi ni Todoke, I've actually started reading it. Sadly, onemanga only contains 8 chapters, and it's sooo bitin! I know there's more chapters out there somewhere. I have to find read it!! [I'm also inlove with the story!] If Yamapi will really be doing a live action version of this manga, then I would definitely support it, to death. Waaa~ [But the story is actually somewhat similar to Nobuta wo Produce or Yamato Nadeshiko, at least for the female character.]

Massu Loves the Philippines

Arielle/Akira, a fellow Filipino JE fan I met over the net (and once on the December gathering), sent me this awesome picture of Massu from a pictorial in Potato mag (July 2006) wearing this really kawaii shirt. I know it's really old but the fact that he wore this shirt really made Filipino fans like us really happy. ^___^

Fangirling Action

Ah! My head hurts! Last night (or this morning), I slept at about 3am although I'm really tired from 3 consecutive days of only having 4 hours of sleep due to what we call in school as a "hell week." But hell weeks can't seem to stop me from doing what I need to do, you know, fangirling. I fail at following new year's resolutions. I listed and noted that I should spend less time on JE especially during school days, but I just can't! The internet is a tool I can't resist. ~~Sometimes I even wish I didn't have a wi-fi installed in our dorm.~~ And guess what time I woke up? At about 3:45PM, as in! Seriously. I was so scared that I prayed and thanked God for a new day. Things were going in my mind like, what if I didn't wake up? What if I continued sleeping forever? Scary. I wanted to cry. :(

After yesterday's class Lexie and I went to my dorm and had some fangirling in action. She showed me some videos of L'arc en Ciel. One of which is the Cartoon KAT-TUN episode in which Hyde and Ken guested. It was so darn funny! He was so embarrased when he failed a little drawing game that he hid himself upstairs. Hahaha!

She also showed me how Hyde first met his present wife. OMG! He's such a torpe. Too kawaii for a superstar like him to be that shy (which reminds me of Ryo and his ~~Leah Dizon~~ Erika Toda moments!) And what the hell, there was this clip in which Hyde got kissed by 2 hosts, whom I recognized as the mega-baka Hey!Hey!Hey! hosts. The fans who were in the studio almost died of disgust. ROFLOL.

JPop: w-inds!

My friend Lexie from school, introduced me to a JPop group called w-inds. As much as possible, I'm trying my best not to listen to non-JE groups but I still decided to try this one.

Amazingly, they are good enough to make me listen to them [or let's just say HE is good enough]. There are only 3 members in their group, a lead singer/vocalist, and 2 ~~back-ups,lol,kidding~~ other members. When you listen to their singles, only one voice is prominent, that is Keita's.

Ryuichi. He completes the 2 backups and I hate his name! [Note: Ryo + Uchi, the pairing/OTP I hate the most! Ryo is only for Pi, Tego, or Tacchon, okay?!] He looks like a more handsome version of Subaru. Hehe. When he ties his hair up and wear shades, he looks like Vaness. Please cut your hair short and look younger!

Keita. In their PV Shiki, he seriously looks like Kingone [side view!] I looove his voice so much, swear! If only he's a Johnny's. :( Sometimes, he looks like Uchi to me so I kinda hate it (you see, I really don't like Uchi for some weird reasoning, don't ask why!) Lexie says his bone structure is similar to that of Ryo's. Yeah. Have to agree. I like this dude. He's good looking and a very good idol! :D

We Can Make It - English Version

OMG. This is so damn amusing. I just found out from the LJ community that "We Can Make It," Arashi's single released for MatsuJun's drama "Bambino" is only a cover! Meaning, it's not the original version. ^___^ It's so funny listening to the original English version! Waaaa! :D Love is All Around by Agnes Carlsson!

I also found another version by Ricki Lee.

There's also a chinese version of this song. :)) OMG, amazing. Hahahaha! *chicken dance* I've listened to it but it felt weird when I didn't hear the epic Sakurap! It's kinda blank without Sho's rap! Seriously. :|

Gokusen 3's After Effect

My cousins were blabbing about how good Gokusen 3 was for almost a month now. So I got curious and asked them to lend their DVD to me. I just finished watching it and I wasn't disappointed. It was really good! You know, what do you expect from the 3rd series of Gokusen, one of the most successful JDramas ever. Although it's quite a shock when the series did not end with a graduation, I still liked it. Anyway, it's been said that Gokusen 3's special has already been confirmed. Good for that! :)

Gokusen has really followed the JE lineage! First it was Jun. Next were Kame and Jin. Now, it's Takaki Yuya of Hey! Say! JUMP and 2 other B.A.D. members. Plus, they never fail to produce or at least cast future big stars! [Note: Oguri Shun as Uchi, and that Hiroki dude who played Noda from Season 1. Teppei and Mokomichi from Season 2, with Hiro (not even seen that much!).}

Yuya vs Miura was actually one of the main reasons why I watched this series. Both my cousins, Len-neechan and Rio-neechan were pro-Miura. Rio-neechan admitted that she was first into Yuya, but then immediately liked Miura as the episodes go on. Until the last episode, I have decided that I liked Yuya better than Miura -- I'm still into the silent type. While Miura is very maloko and makulit, Yuya is more of the pa-cool type, which is honestly my fictional drama type of guy. [Note: Rui/Lei, Rukawa, Sasuke, Sano basta the silent type! One of the reasons why I liked Shun!]

My halfway rating: 51% Yuya and 49% Miura!
My final rating: 70% Yuya and 30% Miura! :D Hahaha!

Due to this inevitable Gok3 addiction, I've decided that Yuya is now officially my favorite HSJ member! Can you believe it?! Hahaha. :D [I just realized that Yuto is too young, while Yuya's age is just perfect. Hehehe. Don't want to be accused a pedo. LOL] Plus, I'm liking him more and more after watching the making of Mayonaka no Shadow Boy's PV. He's sooo cool. I love him, seriously. :)

Happy NEWS year everyone! ^______^ Welcome to 2009! Honestly, this is my first new year for my JE fandom. I've been a JDrama addict since December 2007 but not a JE fan until April 2008. I hope this could last for a long time 'cause I'm so loving it right now!

My cousins from my paternal side and I celebrated a post-Christmas party and a pre-New Year's party at SM Dasma. We saw Shake Rattle and Roll X, and sang Karaoke. We had fireworks after! And look how real fans do fireworks. :D

This was a real serendipity when I accidentaly switched my camera to another mode while taking a pic of my moving cousin holding a sparkler. So we tried expressing our fandom in a very unique way! :D

It was also Setti and Ian's monthsary so Setti introduced him to her parents (Yeah, seriously).

We had super fun! We made lots of California Maki and Kani Sushi! It was totemo oishii! :D Yipee!

I was too lazy to open my computer last Dec24 and 25 so I wasn't able to post a birthday message for Aiba and a Christmas blog entry.

Honestly, Aiba-chan is my least favorite Arashi member, appearance-wise. But he is so baka that I'm beginning to like him more! Of course, my favorite Aibaka moment is the epic mirrorman episode from Shukudai! Hahahaha! This episode made even my non-JE friends laugh like hell. [I was thinking of showing this episode to my Com12 class for Technology review, I just have to find some machine that could actually make invisibility possible. Hehehe.]

I Heart Maou!

No wonder Maou won over Code Blue [and Oh-chan won over my Pi-chan]. The series is really good. Usually, the ending destroys everything for a drama, movie or manga series but Maou is definitely an exception. I dunno, maybe it's just me. But I really really love how this thing ended. They both died! Hehehe. [It's better than one continues to live, right?].

What I don't understand is when Shiori touches this thingy similar to what Hideo has [a harmonica I think], there seems to be leftover images in it. What the hell was that? It brings suspense to the ending but I just can't understand what possible conclusion can you draw from that scene. I have to repeat that last part over and over again to interpret it, but I failed.

Anyway, congratulations Mr. Ohno Satoshi, aka Naruse Ryou/Manaka Tomoo/Amano Makoto for a job well done. Your acting is just a heck convincing. I almost hated you [and fell inlove with you? LOL]. Same thing with Mr. Toma Ikuta who played as Serizawa Naoto -- really improving acting skills. OMG. That is seriously good!

If I were watching alone then probably I've cried a lot during the ending, but I wasn't. Someone was watching with me [or just curiously looking at what I was watching]. I hate to show people I'm crying over stuffs like that, unless they are fangirls too. [Non-fangirls don't understand our feelings! LOL.]

Anyway, congrats again Maou! [To think that I only finished watching the series today when I started it months ago pa. Hehe.]

Judging Yaoi: Part 2!

I was reading some random one-shot mangas when I got across this page. Super LOL trip! :))

The setting was when Little Miss and her friends went to the house of this manga artist to pay the rent.

Little Miss: "Why are these boys kissing each other and going to bed together? Are they good friends?"
Manga artist: Do you want me to teach you? *evil look*

Nyahahahaha! =)) Yaoi! XD

Conclusion: Yaoi corrupts the minds of the young. And I'm an idiot for concluding this.

P.S. An advanced Xmas gift for yaoi fans. I'm sure many of you have seen this. Live action Yaoi! Wahahaha! ^___^ (I'm not a fan of yaoi. Ehem. Seriously.)

Bitter Virgin: Manga Review

Damn! Endings ruin everything! Waaaah! I'm so pissed right now!

I was reading this manga entitled "Bitter Virgin" out-of-curiousity since it ranks 4 over-all in the onemanga popularity rankings. Over-all, it was an enjoyable read. The story was about how this guy Daisuke finds out the deep secret of this certain girl, Aikawa (who was impregnated by her stepfather twice during junior highschool). Despite knowing this fact, Daisuke ends up falling inlove with Aikawa eventually.

There are 32 chapters for the whole series. I was like "Oh, I wanna try reading this. I'll stop at the 10th chapter." If you are reading this blog entry then most probably you know that I've failed to stop. I've finished the whole series, putting aside all my Filipino, History, and LS readings and leaving my supposedly Com12 paper unaccomplished. Damn! I'm so irresponsible. :(

Basta, the ending was a so-so. They've just concluded that their relationship will have to end in the future; but for then, they will have to stick together and enjoy their every moments together. The antagonists on the other hand, (girls who like Daisuke) mentioned that one day, Daisuke's mom will find out Aikawa's secret, and will be a major hindrance between their relationship.

This kind of ending will leave the fans hanging like "what then?!" Waaaah! It's a superfailure ending. XP Booo! I super liked their lovestory pa naman!
